How to use math worksheets at home

  1. Teach the idea first with objects or drawings, then use a worksheet for practice.
  2. Keep it short: one sheet a day builds fluency faster than a stack once a week.
  3. Check it together with the answer key and redo the ones that were missed.
  4. Keep a finished sheet each month as a work sample for your records.

Frequently asked questions

Are these math worksheets free?

Yes. Pick a grade or skill, press New problems for as many different sheets as you like, and print. No signup, no watermark.

Can I print an answer key?

Yes. Leave "Include answer key" on and the answers print on a second page, so you can check work in seconds.

How many problems should a child do?

Short and daily beats long and weekly. Twenty problems is plenty for most early learners; thirty to forty works for fact fluency practice in 3rd grade and up.

Do subtraction and division problems have whole-number answers?

Yes. Subtraction never goes below zero and division always comes out even (long division sheets can have remainders shown as R).
