Education plan

Parents plan the program. Under the not-supervised option you write a program plan but do not submit it.

Reports and evaluation

Supervised: the school authority arranges at least two evaluations each year by a certificated teacher, including a portfolio review. Not supervised: none stated.

Funding

Supervised programs only: parents receive half of the home education grant. Not-supervised programs receive no funding.

Good to know: Most families choose the supervised option for the funding and the teacher support.

Keep records from day one

Even where reports are not required, a simple record of days, books and work samples answers any question later and helps if your child returns to school.
